This morning Devin cried, Matt got him, put him in bed with us. Shortly after Luke joined us. I fed Devin, gave him his pacifier, hoping that I could get a little more shut eye. Devin pulls out his binkie right away....
Devin: Dadda
Luke: Shhhhhhhh!!! Dad is sleeping!
It was pretty cute.

Some Dad time
Matt has been doing an ED (or as most people know it, ER-it's called the Emergency Department now) rotation, so he's had quite a lot of time off during the week. It has been nice, but it has really thrown off our schedules, so oddly enough it'll be nice to have a more consistent schedule for his next (and FINAL!!!!) rotation. But we've really enjoyed having him around more.
The other day we took a walk over at Shaker Lake, just a couple of miles from our house. Give it a week or so and it'll all be beautiful, luscious, green trees!
This is a common sight in our house and throughout much of our day....Luke getting in trouble. Have I mentioned that the 3's are much harder than the 2's for us? :)
It's so interesting that only a few blocks away from our house, or in the other direction, not far from the ghetto, there are some amazingly HUGE & beautiful homes. Many of them are completely different in style too. It's so fun to see them all. I think this one is one of the biggest I've seen here. One of Matt's favorites. It's so big I couldn't even get it in the whole picture!
I liked this one too.
And since there are never any pictures of me....I had to (and have always wanted one of these..haha) take this one.
This is also a common occurrence at our house. Whenever two of us are interacting with one another, or hugging or whatever it doesn't take long for a Luke to end up squished between you. He loves getting all the attention he can!
Devin has recently learned how to wave, say "Dada" and is almost crawling. He's doing the army crawl and working on getting up on those knees. It won't be long! He's getting his first tooth now too!
And one of the biggest things that went down recently was Matt's BIG birthday!!! He turned 29!!! And all he ever wants is my homemade brownies and ice cream.
Happy Birthday my love!!!
You're the greatest Dad & Husband I know!

A brunch for the babies.
So I spend a lot of my free time with some of the same gals. I frequently have my camera with me and tend to take lots of pictures. We had a fun get-together brunch to a while back. It was Eliza (the cutie with the purple bow) 1/2 birthday...or really just an excuse to all get together and visit, before our friends move out.
It's so fun, yet exhausting trying to get five babies together for pictures.
It's pretty hilarious watching them interact with one another. I love how Talmage is just wiped out.
And Dev is holding his hand. He and Devin are only a day apart in age. His big brother Emmett is Luke's "best friend." They just moved in a few months ago and are here to stay, at least as long as we're here. I'm so glad that both boys will have such good friends so close in age.
And boys will be boys. They must be learning it from their big brothers...that or Devin is just starving in this picture!
While we managed to get some pictures of the babies, thankfully, the dads were there to keep the older ones busy and out of our hair for the moment.
I'm so thankful for such great friends, who are like family to us!

Seven months.
Oh, my baby is now starting the uphill climb to ending his first year...sniff, sniff. He is just growing too fast. I was thinking the other night how it would be nice to be able to sleep straight through the night without one of my little muffins waking me up or climbing in our bed. But then I thought that it won't be long before they won't need me very often during the night anymore. So, as much as I love my sleep, I'd rather try to enjoy this time while my baby is a baby and my 3-year-old is 3. Ever since I heard Elder Scott's talk (he gave the same talk at a CES fireside a while ago where I first heard and loved it), The Eternal Blessings of Marriage, I always think of the part where he says he held his little boy, who had heart problems, all night until he fell back asleep and little did he know that his little boy would die only a few months later. Not that I am worried that one of my babies is going to die any time soon, I just am learning how fast they grow and want to cherish these moments for as long as I can.
Devin is adorable. We just can't get enough of him. It is just so fun to have a little baby around.
He sits all on his own. Looooves to eat his baby food. He loves to roll everywhere and scoot all over our hardwood floor (which makes it easy). My favorite thing is his squeals, he talks and jabbers all day. He mimics and it's so cute. He squeals, I squeal, then Luke squeals, and we play that little game over and over and then we all laugh. He loves to play with toys and wrestle (most of the time) with Luke.
We love you little Devin!

Les MIZ!!!!
The other night we saw Les Miserables! Our good friends (who are moving...sniff, sniff) watched the boys forever. THANK YOU THANK YOU KATE & DANIEL!!!!
It was so fun going out on a much-needed date. We left Devin for the first time. We got all dressed up, had our binoculars and sneaked in some brownies...hehee. It was such a great play (minus a scene or two)!!! I've never been to a Broadway play that was just singing the entire time! I stayed awake (I have a history of falling asleep in expensive Broadway plays. I can't help it!) and it was amazing! It was such a great story and we both loved it.
We paid for close parking and Matt even let me buy a drink that cost $3.25!!! Haha it was great. When we were in Med school we tried to still do fun things and if they cost a lot we tried to save money in other ways, even if that meant parking a mile away for free parking. So this was a real treat! Haha.
Enough babbling.
It was a blast and Matt is the best husband ever.
