Last days of Summer

Some things never change....
He has a fun, big boy bed, but for some reason the floor or our bed is much more appealing.
On a side note: Luke has been potty trained for almost a year and has never peed the bed either. Well, this morning we wake up to him in our bed (he's very sneaky and we are so tired, most of the time we don't notice-he climbs from the end of our bed and sneaks between us). Well, this morning he wasn't wearing pants and when I asked him why he wasn't wearing pants he said he took them off because they were wet. So yeah, he wet our bed. Oh and speaking of being pantless. He also (on the same day) decided to take his pants off in nursery today too. Great.

Last weekend when Matt was running on 2 hours of sleep, being post call, we decided to have a picnic at Sulfer Springs, that isn't too far from our house. It's a fun, shallow stream that you can play in. Luke had a blast.

And this weekend Matt was off and Friday night we went to an Indian's game. It was sold out, we sat on the VERY VERY back row, next to the wild, shirtless college kids that had "THOME" (toe-me) painted on their chests. Oh and can I just say that baseball players have the weirdest names. I swear some of them are made up. We have a true Spanish Forkian name, Grady Sizemore. And we seriously have a COCO CRISP on our team. Not even kidding.

Apparently, the Indians are doing quite well this year. We don't really follow MLB, but we enjoy the experience of being at a game. It was Dollar Dog Night and they said they sold almost 50,000 hot dogs. Blah.

We got there during the 7th Inning. I'd say perfect timing for us. The Indians won and they had an awesome firework show after. It was a lot of fun!

Saturday morning I learned how to can peaches and tomatoes at an RS activity! It was so awesome!
Later that afternoon we took Matt with us to this awesome new Splash Park. We went last week and had so much fun we had to go back before summer was over.

Matt went down the "big" slide with Luke and it was pretty hilarious...It seemed to be taking them a long time to get down and then I hear a whole lot of squeaking....and then see Matt trying to climb out. Apparently, it wasn't wet enough and he got stuck.
Dev with lunch all over his face...
It was a little too cold for Devin last time, but he seemed to have a lot more fun this time.

I told Matt he need to take more pictures, even though I'm the photographer for the family, so I can be in some of them....well, this is about as good as it gets!

Afterwards we headed out for some soft serve ice cream and went home to have a BBQ with the missionaries. Took the boys on a walk to get them to fall asleep and watched a movie together. It was awesome. It's the best when Matt can be home with us!

Deliciousness in my kitchen

Peach season = A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
We have been eating so many peaches.
Peach cobbler.
Peach parfaits.
Peach smoothies.
And for the first time ever, peach jam.
A little confession. I didn't can this. It's freezer jam. I ran out of my freezer containers, so this one is for our fridge and it looks so much cuter in a can, than a plastic container.
Other bit of deliciousness...these bad boys.
Peanut butter goodness, smooshed between salty pretzels, dipped in chocolate.
Wowzers!

These faces

are so kissable and adorable, right?

YW

We have a fun young women's group. Sadly, we just lost 3 of our young women. They moved away.

So we had a little going away party and went out for frozen yogurt. It was a hit (surprise, surprise).
The pregger leaders, Em and Janelle.

Christina, Alona and Lina who left us. :(

Our groupie.
Being in the yw has been one of the hardest callings, but one of the most fulfilling calling I've ever been in.
We have a fun group!

Devin 11 months

I can't believe my little baby is almost a year old! It's so sad. They grow up too fast.

Devin is FINALLY sleeping through the entire night. Let me tell you, it is AMAZING!
He loves loves loves all food.
He feeds himself with a fork.
He loves his family.
He giggles on purpose, at random things. It's so cute and sometimes it's forced.
He does a little bit of a fake cry sometimes too.
He signs for more, milk and eat.
He stands on his own, cruises and crawls everywhere. It won't be long before he's walking. Eek!
He has 7 teeth.
He has what Matt calls, "grandpa hair." It's way long in the back and on the sides, and short on top.
You can tell this is my second child....since he had his first ice cream cone [just the cone] a few weeks ago at the beach.

We just LOVE our little Devin and are so excited for him to meet the rest of my family for the first time in a few weeks!

Bug Bites

A few weeks ago, poor Luke got bit by, we think mosquitos, on the tips of each ear. Apparently he had some kind of allergic reaction.

Here are just a few (unedited) pics I tried to get of his big, puffy, hot, red ears. His right ear was the worst. Poor guy. He didn't mind though. We gave him a couple doses (not at the same time) of benadryl and after about 24 hours they went down.

And about a week later I must have gotten bit by something too. I had a puffy eye. It looked like I got socked right in the eye.

By the way, have I mentioned that the mosquitos here are HUGE!!!!! Seriously, it's disgusting.

The "Beach"

I've probably mentioned about going to the beach before. Well, if you've actually looked at a map and have any clue where Ohio is (it's a lot further east than you think!)...well, we're no where near a real beach.

But Lake Erie is HUGE and has waves that are pretty good sized, for a lake at least, so we call it the beach.

Matt's program had a work party on a private beach on the West side. One of the Doc's lives down on this private beach and opened up the beach house to all of us. This year they let us bring our children and it was a lot of fun!

All day it was rainy and gloomy and the sun decided to come out right as it was setting. It made for some fun (and tricky!) pictures.

Matt seriously could not resist getting in the water in all of his clothes. He is like a kid. It was so funny. All of his colleges and attendings were out on the deck sipping on wine and socializing, while Matt is out jumping in the waves. He's so cute.

More summer nights. Awwww.
