Gram and Gramps came to visit!!!

My parents decided about a month ago to buy tickets to come and see us. They were going to come out this fall, but we are planning on going home during the fall, so we made a switcheroo!

We had SO MUCH fun!!! We absolutely love visitors, especially the grandparent ones!
Steak'n Shake...love that place!

What did we do?
  • Hit up some vendors and bakeries at the West Side Market.
  • Ate some delicious BBQ'd food, some home-cooking goodness (my mom is a gourmet chef!), and ate at some of our favorite places (we love food!!).
  • Shopped at Aurora Farms and spent too much money at The Children's Place and the Croc store.
  • Went to Fair Port Harbor to see the Church site there and check out the "beaches."
  • Made several trips to Wal-mart and Home Depot. Where my dad got a great taste of Cleveland folk.
  • We took a weekend trip to Columbus and saw the mounds, and mound city.
  • Worked a bit on the yard and the cars (they always come and take good care of us, and help us get things done).
  • Went to another great Jewish Bakery.

Grandpa met Devin for the first time! It was love at first sight, I'm sure.

Leave it to my dad to buy Luke his first "gun shooter!" Or, super soaker.
At the store, Luke pretty much got everything he wanted....so spoiled.

Look at that face!

On our way to Columbus. Poor Matt is so sleep deprived!
Luke wore his swimsuit all day, even though we didn't swim until 10:00 at night.
And so was Devin. He missed several naps and stayed up too late most nights. What kind of parents take their 8 month old swimming at 10pm??? Gesh!
He looks so sleepy.
Dev and Daddy, breakfast at the hotel.

Mound City, and my dad sporting his Indian's hat.
Devin is so squirmy! He wiggles and wiggles. He just wants to be crawling around on the ground.

On our drive back home we stopped at this little gem. Matt barely saw it off the side of the highway and pulled off. Ye Olde Mill, where they make Velvet ice cream, who could resist?

It was so fun, parks, pond, ducks, ice cream, a petting zoo and more....
The boys were so cute, yet look how dumb us parents look.
Seriously, look at my face!
The Gparents are cute too. Although, Luke said, "Mom, I don't think Grandpa's head will fit."
Hanging out on the back porch, grillin' up some goodness!

Thanks for coming Mom and Dad. We loved, loved, loooooved having you here! It went by way too fast. We can't wait to come back home visit again.
You and your ipad will be missed!

The Finished Fence

At last our fence is COMPLETE!

Well, it has been for about a week, I am just behind on posting pictures.

We love it!!! Matt did such a wonderful job. Who knew he was a man of so many talents?
Here are the last few pictures of the fence.

The gate...which took only like 5 hours alone.

Matt's mom planted like 100 tulip bulbs last year and they looked gorgeous this spring!

Lake Farm Park'n Stuff

It has been warming up finally, so we've been spending a lot of time out doors.

A few days ago we joined some friends and visited Lake Farm Park. The weather was gorgeous and we had so much fun playing with friends and seeing the animals. Here are a few random pictures from the day.

This is a funny face Devin always makes...something funny with the eye brows.
Luke thinks dandelions are just "beautiful."

I just wanted to post these cute pictures.

This is what I see from my bathroom. Occasionally I will put Dev in his crib with toys, so I can get ready and he's learned how to look over the bumper pad to watch me.

Eight months and as cute as can be!

Devin is 8 months old today. I say it every month, but he's just growing too quickly!
Oh we just love this little guy so much.
He has two cute, little bottom teeth.
He jabbers "Dada, baba..." and a lot of other baby talk.
He screams and yells. He's a very loud baby these days!
He loves, loves, loves food.
He loves me and yells when I walk out of the room.
He is so, so close to crawling on his knees, but he is super fast pushing off his toes in an army crawl.
He is a great sleeper for naps, but loves to sleep in his bed. If we are out and about (which is often) he usually won't fall asleep.
He STILL IS NOT sleeping through the night. Oh how I wish I could remember what it was like to have one night full of uninterrupted sleep. He falls asleep quite early, like 6:30pm or sometimes earlier, but always wakes up around 5am. Even if I put him down later, he will still wake up at 5am, but he sleeps for another hour or two after eating or getting his pacifier. So, really, it's not that bad.
He giggles when we blow bubbles outside.
He loves playing, wrestling with and watching Luke do anything.
He always snuggles with me for a minute or two right before I lay him down in his crib and then he just rolls onto his side and falls asleep-it's the best.
He is SUCH a good baby. We have been so blessed to have mellow, easy-going, happy and healthy babies.
Not to mention how cute they are!
We love our little Devin!
