Bear Lake 2014

Back in the summer, the boys and I joined Matt's sister, Rachel's family for

a few days at the cabin at Bear Lake. We LOVE it there!

The weather was unseasonably cool. We had rented jet ski's and never even got to use

them. It rained a lot of the time and was too cold to swim. The boys got to play in 

the water once or twice, but it was so dark and cloudy. I've never had a trip

to the lake and didn't get to put on a swimming suit! What a bummer.

But, we still had a good time. Rachel has 3 boys and they were in little

 boy heaven the whole time. 

 Even though it was cold, as always, the lake was still absolutely gorgeous!

 It was James' first time and he was a big fan.

 The gingers have a special bond. :)

No trip to the cabin is complete without painting rocks. 

Goodybye Beach Party

I think the next few posts will somehow be titled "such and such goodbye party."

We're pretty much dragging it out all month long (insert sad face).

We had a lucky, beautiful summer day at the beach a week ago, with some of my 

absolute favorite people. I am really going to miss these people. Over my years in

Cleveland I have met and made a lot of wonderful friendships, but these ladies are

definitely some of the best. Friends I will certainly have for life!

 And hey! My cute husband got to come too (even though he was post call FOR THE LAST TIME
IN RESIDENCY EVER!!!!!!).

Clifton Beach

Every August, Matt's program at Metro, hosts a fun, welcome dinner for all the new interns. 

One of the attendings owns a beach house on the private Clifton Beach, on the west side of Cleveland. 

It is lovely! This is by far our favorite work party of each year. 

This year was our last year to attend. It seems like only yesterday we dropped 

Luke off at a sitter and went to the party and I was about ready to pop with Devin. 

Anywho, we don't really care that much to socialize...I mean, we do, but really we go for the beach. Plus, everyone knows we're the weird Mormons with lots of kids. ;)

But really, we do like the people there.

 Little James' first time to the beach. He was about 1 and half months old here.

 It was a chillier night in August,  so no wading this year, 

but thankfully we watched the beautiful sunset!

 Devin is usually my little crazy dare devil, but he was quite afraid of the water, 

which I was thankful for. If Luke got even a little close, Dev would start screaming.

 Devin and Luke went out there with one of Matt's attendings, 

Dr. Todia, to collect cool rocks, seashells and sea glass. They thought it was so cool.

 Not really a fan of this family picture, but hey! We're all looking at the

 camera and yeah, it's a family picture after all.

Ah, it was such a nice night. 

So sad to leave this place! 

More Utah

Another big thing we did while visiting, was go through the temple with Matt's littlest sister Adrienne!

She has been called to serve an LDS mission in Santiago, Chile. She leaves in October.
