After our Michigan trip, we returned home, had one day (Labor Day) to recover, clean, do laundry and pack for Utah and Hawaii. We flew out bright and early the next morning (thank you for the ride Kjiristi!). It was a tad scary doing it all on my own with two little kids, but we survived. I don't know how I did it, I had the two kids, a double stroller, duffel bag, backpack and two big suitcases, oh and a car seat to haul from the crib to check in. Whew!
I felt quite sick on the air plane and Devin is what my dad says, "like holding a greased pig." He is SO wiggly. It felt so good when we landed in Utah and felt the warm, dry air!
That night my sister thew a little anniversary celebration for my parents. They celebrated their 38th year!

That first week we really just hung around. Most of my nieces and nephews were in school, so me and my two sisters, Mandy and Susie, played most days. It was so fun to just hang out with them! It's one of the things I miss the most.
Mandy couldn't take Devin's little mullet anymore and took some scissors to my little guy.

We spent time having picnics at the park, and letting the kids run wild in my parents fun backyard.

During the hot days the kids went wild inside. It was fun to watch them play.
We played a few times down at my sister's retro house (late granny Pearls house). I wish I would have taken a picture of her oven. It is RETRO and awesome. You can barely see it in the background, but you just wouldn't understand unless you saw it up close.
Me and Mandy also took the kiddies up to the reservoir to play in the "sand" and water a bit.

Lydia and Luke had lots of fun playing together, with their silly imaginations. Often times Jack was there too, I just don't have as many pictures of him. Luke and Lydia were mostly sweet and pretended to run around carrying babies. When Jack was there they turned into wild men, pulled their shirts off and went bonkers. They had so much fun being together!
On September 10th, Devin had his first birthday! It was fun to be with all of our family for a birthday for once. My family sure knows how to have a party and threw a big bash for him and Kami, my niece who turned 7 the next day.

My brother Matt's house is the "fun house." He has all of the latest and the greatest. He blew up this fun inflatable slide and let the kids run wild. I think my cute grandparents were amazed.

Devin really wasn't sure what was going on, with all these crazy people he'd never seen before. It was his very first time meeting everyone, besides my parents.

Okay, this was probably one of the highlights of my trip. These two pictures...but mostly the last one.
After we took this picture (below) I'm pretty sure everyone almost peed their pants because we were laughing so hard...Can you guess why?
Holly's face! Haha. The one on the end is not blood related to me. Hahaah just kidding. She definitely won this one. And look, even my grandma is making a face. Awesome! I still laugh out loud every time I see it.

Miss Adalee has to be one of the sweetest 2 year olds ever.
Matt's parents only live a few minutes away from mine. We stayed there a couple of nights when Sarah and Cam were down from BYU and Adrienne wasn't busy playing soccer or dancing. We love visiting their house and the boys especially love being with their fun, single aunts and uncle. Luke kept saying that Cam was his best friend. He even had a little sleep over in his room with him. I just wish I would have taken more pictures with them! This was the only one I got of him and Sarah playing outside one morning.
And this pretty much sums up how Luke felt about playing with his silly cousins every single day for almost 2 weeks.
Other than just playing and hanging out, we did some major shopping and one of those days we spent at Ikea. My sis Jenny and her goofball Nick came along and he seriously wore this the entire time. It was hilarious. Captain America.
We had a couple of girls nights too. Me, Holly, Susie and Mandy saw a midnight showing of The Help and loved it! We stopped and got our penny candies (like the good ole days, except now they are 3 cents each!) and our Slurpee's for the show. And another night I made a Moroccan dinner for all of them and then we did little crafts together. It was so fun!
I grabbed this sweater from my sister's house as we left, because I always get cold during movies. I looked like a part of the movie.
The downside of our big trip was that Luke got super sick. He threw up for days. On the worst day he was like this almost all day, on the toilet. I know it's gross, but he'd scream if I tried to pull him off. Then he'd lay on the floor and fall asleep right outside the bathroom. In this picture he is out cold. He fell asleep on the toilet at least twice. It was kind of funny, but sad too.
He got sick the end of the Utah trip and carried it over to Hawaii, where he continued to throw up for a few more days, but not as often. The day before Hawaii Dev got sick too. He had fevers for over 3 days. Then Gpa Clark put him on an antibiotic (we didn't want a miserable baby in Hawaii), but he broke out in a rash so we had to stop that. Then he had a day of throwing up too. Eventually, toward the end of the Hawaii trip they were feeling a little better. Boy it was NOT fun.
However, being in Utah visiting family and my two good friends, Dani and Liz and meeting their little babies, was a lot of fun. We loved every minute of it! We really missed Matt, but hopefully we can take him with us another time. Thanks for all the hosting and all the fun Johnson family!!!
